You Are Not Broken: Building a Community That Honors Who You Are

Good day everyone. Welcome to Powerful and Unpolished. I'm Tim Salmans, I'm your host. Uh, welcome back to another episode. We are doing a solo episode today. So we're gonna make some announcements, do a little bit of, uh, pondering if you will, and, um, hopefully get things moving forward. So thank you for taking the time today to, to drop in and listen.

Here's an announcement. Here's the big announcement. Um, this has been something that's sort of been working at me for a while now, and I've been playing with it for a couple months, and now finally, finally, it's done. I should say finally it's happening. It's not done, but, um, we're actually opening up our private membership community, and we're launching it on March 2nd at 3:00 PM We're doing a 90 minute live Zoom event, and we're going to be basically launching our private community.

And the private community is called to elevate for impact. And you're probably asking yourself, all right, so what does this mean? I mean. Fine. You have another community, like there's a bunch of communities out there and everybody has space to find their own community. It's important that whoever we are, that we have connections with people, and it doesn't have to be exactly the same, but just someplace where you feel supported, where you feel engaged, and that's why we've created this community.

I'll describe it as well, let's just say this. The community is there as part of an opportunity to help people. What I call factory reset to give them the opportunity for somewhere in their life. Maybe it's a personal relationship, maybe it's career oriented, maybe it's school oriented. It could be a variety of things, could be personal development, could be whatever it is that someone might be like, you know what?

I'm tired of this old pattern I'm tired of. I would like to have fresh eyes, fresh ears, fresh opportunity on this situation. And that's why we work with our clients and we work in this community and support everybody in Factory Reset. What if you could actually go back to a place where things were new?

Possibilities were fresh. A factory reset is about moving past life's clutter and the expectations that have a tendency to grow on us, that, that they have a tendency to, to weigh us down. There are some people that I know. And bless their hearts, they're carrying the world around on their shoulders.

They're taking care of the emotional support, not only for themselves, but their friends, their family, their, their siblings, whatever it may be, and having a safe space. That's why we're creating this private membership community is so that there is a true, safe space for people to come and ask questions to allow themselves if they're up for it.

To be vulnerable, but we even open up to the opportunity that they can ask questions anonymously so they don't have to feel the, the weight of judgment or the weight of questioning or, or anything like this. And we can bring it to the group. And the group is guided to honor the question and to honor what's possible.

'cause that is one thing that we do in this work. We do it with this community that we're launching. We do it with the book that was released last year. We do it with the one-on-one clients that I work with. We do it with the deeper dive trainings that we go into, that this is always and ultimately about helping someone gain a new footing to move into a space that honors them for who they are and what they're here to do, and also to recognize where we get tripped up.

We all do. Every person out there, even, even the people selling you a good idea and a good image and all that kind of stuff, they have their Achilles heel just like everybody else, and some of 'em don't need to deal with it and bless them. Good. That's their path. They, they can go work, flourish, do whatever they want to on their path.

That's great. The idea about doing a factory reset about having this community is that. It's about opening up to fresh possibil possibilities, to restoring a sense of hope, a sense of, of possibility, I should say, maybe rediscovering some curiosity. Oftentimes, we get stuck in, in, we get stuck in what we know about the world.

It's also to support people in being courageous and, and understanding that courage is a. It's an art form, it's a practice. It, it, it's, it's not just a concept that you have to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and just do it. And yeah, you can do that, but it doesn't have to be a battle. What, what if, what if there was a, a, another possibility and another strength to promote for yourself in moving forward?

And that's really kind of why we're doing this. I mean, there's this. And this episode is really around this launch, but it's around the community. It's around the awareness. It's around the ongoing interaction of, Hey, what if I did have a group that I could connect with where I did feel safe, where it wasn't about fixing me?

I'm not, I'm not broken. You're not broken. I've said that numerous times on numerous podcast episodes. You're not broken, and you probably already know that. The question is, is are you fulfilled to the level, to the capacity that you want or hope? Are you aware of what might be something that, that maybe you see as an asset, but it might be holding you back?

It's a possibility, or maybe there's a new twist on something that someone else in the membership group could bring that highlights for you? Wow, I can apply something different to this situation. It's not about becoming someone new. It's simply about clearing the space so that what you already are is true for you moving forward.

Why this community exists is because, well, I, I've had people come to me saying, wow, I wish I could have these conversations more frequently. There's not very often that they, that people have shared with me that they can have these sort of deeper introspective conversations. That it opens up new awarenesses.

I would say for me, part of the reason why this community exists is someone just recently with everything that's going on in our world, especially in our country and in our culture, they asked a very general question like, what is wrong with the world? Fair question. And I venture to say that that question's probably been asked every day on this planet by almost any human being that's walked this planet.

But I did. Sit and ponder what this person said, and I said, I don't know that anybody has the actual answer. I said, but maybe one of the things that might be getting in the way of what's possible in our culture, in our relatedness, in our humanity, is that maybe there's the smallness in us, the insecure in us, the fear in us that just is really Fri really fighting to be right.

About whatever your belief system is, and people will attack that or judge that and that's fine, but offering up a possibility of, wow, this person has sold, sold people on sort of a victim awareness, maybe sold people on an insecurity so that then they could be right. About their view, about their way of the world, about their whatever, politics, religion, dinner, anything.

It could be virtually anything, but that's part of who we are and what we do as human beings. And to be able to create a space that holds respect and consideration, working towards integrity, not only for the space itself, but for the individuals. Who are engaging in that space. That's what this community's about in that we're not perfect and there's many perspectives in which to consider, and if we can consider things and maybe be accurate here and there from time to time, but not give up the need or the hunger or the desire of being right, that's just our ego at play.

It's wreaking a lot of havoc right now in a lot of people's world and a lot of people's lives, and a lot of people are carrying this weight on their shoulders. There's a, a quote, a common quote by Henry David Thoreau that says, the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song.

Still in them. We're just holding space, creating a space, creating ongoing relationship interactions. So that maybe people's song can come out a little bit more. Maybe there's a safe, grounded space to step out of the noise and practice some different, something different together to elevate for impact.

The community is for the select few. It's, it's, I get it. This isn't for everybody. You may be listening to this going, this was wacky or whatever. By all means. I'm not trying to convince you of anything. But for the people who are in the space who understand they're carrying a lot of weight on them, they're carrying a lot of expectation, they're carrying a lot of clutter that they keep bouncing into.

What if they could reconnect that factory reset? What if they could reconnect with awareness, presence of kind of their original essence of, of who they are, and then bring that to the community so that it's not just, you don't have to be alone. And you're not broken and nobody needs to save you. It's just a safe space in which to create how the community will work.

Just to give a little bit of awareness around that is that there will be a weekly touch in of some kind, either a brief 20, 30 minute, um, check-in call, uh, that's really around. Staying connected. And then every other week there'll be like, like, so maybe like the second week of the month, there'll be a, what I call an intentional activation.

An intentional activation is about applying this awareness to your everyday life. Is this what you want? Is this what you're trying to create? Are there areas that are holding you up? Some every fourth. Week of the month, roughly. And we, we have the details. Um, when this podcast gets released, when this episode gets released, I will go in and put in a link so that you can actually go to, um, the invite page with more of the specific details and stuff.

But what it will do is it accesses, um, so you'll, you'll have the fourth week. There's a, what we call a, what is it? A monthly conclave. Monthly conve. And the reason why I like the concept of monthly conclave was, I mean, I got it from, uh, uh, the Roman Catholic Church, but, um, I just, I just love what it said.

It, it's, it's about a private, non-judgmental space for deeper exploration. The conclave itself loosely put, is, uh, in Latin is together and key. So having a connectedness, a togetherness. A key for access, and it's highlighted as a private meeting for members only. And in this, again, it gives you the availability of asking your questions and, and knowing that it's a safe space.

Or for those who really have a question, maybe it's a hot question and they just don't wanna, uh, present it. They can send it to me and then I will present it to the group anonymously. So that we can consider other people, other thoughts, other possibilities, so that we can move out of the muck of being stuck in being right about how wrong this or that.

And we all do it. I mean, it's all for those of us who are listening, who we're human beings. We have egos. These egos run us. Oftentimes they run us into territory that does not serve us. It does not honor us. It does not honor our capacity or where we're going to. I mean, virtually, if you think about it, every war that was ever created on this planet was basically some man's ego out of kilter.

Some man's ego put off some man's ego so sensitive he couldn't take. Another path. Some man's ego who relied on his lower vibration of physical dominance. Nothing wrong with being physical and having strength, but if that's your go-to what else is possible, there's always something else that's possible for us, for each and every one of us.

And again, like I said, this is for the select few. This is not for someone who's looking to buy results. We're looking to do a strategy, and the other cool thing about this is it's not for this community to sit here and tell you what you should go do. The community is here to support you and what you bring to it.

We actually then support you in working through it. At least that's the theory, that's the idea. That's why we're doing this. I mean it's, and God, what if we actually did exercise and practice community and really work to kind of like check our ego? To stand in our real essence of power. 'cause that's what it's about.

I mean, for me, that's, you know, being able to connect with people and to feel their humanity. You know, there's, I have probably three stories right now going on in my head where people are, are going above and beyond for their neighbors, for their friends. And that's admirable and that's, I love it when they do that.

When you see people reach out and do that community. I talk about it in, in the book that I wrote, which is Inner Wisdom, outer Impact, leading your Life from the inside out. What I was talking about was that when we have a catastrophe, people seem to check their egos and they help out strangers. They help out neighbors.

They don't sit here and say, what's your nationality? What's your, your political view, what you're really, you know, it's like going, no, here's a human being that's in direct need right now. Can I, will I. Do I step up and help that person? That's why I love the potential of what this community has to offer.

'cause it's really about being in relationship that is laced or, or, or nurtured with integrity, consideration, humility, elements of vulnerability that really are true strength. If you look to the great greatest teachers that have ever walked this planet that we refer to all the time, no matter what sector, when you refer to these great teachers of humanity, they showed, demonstrated and taught about great vulnerability.

'cause that's where the real strength was in them. For us to learn, to grow, to discover. So I'm talking philosophy and ideology about all this, but, but that's the whole idea is it's like, it's really about growing stronger, growing into the future in a way that has intention. Uh, what else about, I wanna make sure I'm not forgetting anything.

Um, it's about asking questions. Again, they can ask private questions, but it's also not about. Coming to the group to get advice per se. It's more about coming to the group, looking for whatever you're struggling with or wanting to factory reset or engage with, and being curious and getting maybe a few, two or three or four different perspectives that maybe you hadn't considered or you hadn't considered them in the way that they're presented.

And so that might help you a little bit. So, but over time, the whole idea is that this community is about being more than meeting, that we, we engage with, it's not just about being part of a community and be in a meeting. It's really about maybe molding into a tribe to be in that essence. And so I just wanted to announce that today.

Also share some of the ongoing philosophy. We have great guests. Every guest that I bring on, we talk about their business because their business is a key element. It's important to who they are and what they do, and we honor that in them. But above all else, I mean, being personally, I, I honor the fact of the human being that they are behind that the gifts, the power, the love, the essence that they're displaying, that they're exhibiting, and maybe that they're not even aware that they have yet.

Some people get a little bit more discovery for themselves and our listeners get to listen to some amazing guests. I get asked some weird questions. I get asked, you know, like a high school kid sometimes, at least my kind of high school kid. I don't know about high school kids today, but looking for the fun, looking for the joy, looking to play.

Life's already hard enough. We don't need our egos making things worse so that we can glorify ourselves in some victim story to find some sort of weak validation, because that is a very common practice that happens in our world and our culture. Don't let someone else sell you on your victim state so that you can be validated.

It is such a weak energy that any individual can take on. You don't have to take it on. I want to advocate for you the essence that you are and how you're finding yourself through this world. So thank you for letting me sort of pontificate like I always do. We will have some new guests coming on. We're gonna be interviewing, uh, more and more people that I just have the pleasure and opportunity to cross paths with and, you know, share their expertise and their special light that they have.

So I hope you find this useful. I hope this information was helpful. Um, if you are interested, I, like I said, I'm gonna put a link in the, uh, in the description for this podcast. But on March 2nd, Monday, March 2nd at 3:00 PM we are going to be launching the two Elevate for Impact Membership Community. And we would love to invite you to come join us.

Check it out, see if it's something that interests you, see if there's an alignment there, and, um, we'll, we'll just see where it goes. Play with it for a little bit and get some ideas and then we'll move on from there. I wish you all the best. I thank you for taking the time and listening, and until next time, cheers.
